Toronto wants buildings to tap into its sewage for heating
Heating large buildings like hospitals can be costly. However, a new construction project, called “the world’s largest raw wastewater energy project,” is underway at Toronto Western Hospital and promises to change all that.
King County launches sewer heat recovery in South Lake Union
King County and Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc. partnered to draw heat from a large, underground sewer pipe to heat a 1.6 million-square-foot mixed-use mega campus in South Lake Union.
E.ON Going Underground
E.ON installed a waste-to-heat project underneath a new building in Berlin’s Ostbahnhof. The 100 year old sewers will provide heating and cooling to the building in an eco-friendly and efficient way.
